साइकल चालकको नांगो प्रदर्शन

मेक्सिको सिटी/ ४० लाख सवारीसाधन गुड्ने मेक्सिकोको राजधानी मेक्सिको सिटीमा साइकल चालकले गाडीको विरोधमा शनिबार नांंगो प्रदर्शन गरेका छन् । प्रदर्शनकारीले गाडी चालकहरूले साइकल चालकको सम्मान गर्नुपर्ने माग गरेका थिए । प्रदर्शनमा पाँच सयभन्दा बढी साइकल चालक थिए । पुरुष र महिला दुवै सहभागी प्रदर्शनकारीमध्ये आधाजसो नांगै थिए । ‘हामी गाडी चालकले देखून् भनेर नांगै साइकलमा हिँडेका हौं ताकि उनीहरूले हामीलाई सडकमा नपेलून्,’ नांगा विद्यार्थी अलेजान्द्रो हर्नान्डेज भन्छन्, ‘गाडी चालकहरू हाम्रो सम्मान गर्दैनन् । उनीहरू हामीलाई टन्टा ठान्छन् ।’ मेक्सिको सिटीमा करिब दुई करोड मानिस रहेका छन् । त्यहाँको वामपन्थी सरकार साइकल प्रयोगलाई बढावा दिँदै छ । सडकमा साइकल लेन बनाउन थालेको छ । तर, यो पर्याप्त छैन जसले गर्दा साइकल चालकहरू सडकमा पुराना बस, ट्रकसँगै पेलिएर हिँड्न बाध्य छन् । (from nayapatrika )

Indian leaders dissatisfied with PM

KATHMANDU, June 13 - Ruling Indian party leaders Friday expressed dissatisfaction over Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s present role and said they would help Nepal in the formation of a Maoist-led coalition government.

 

In a meeting of the Nepal Democratic Agitation Solidarity Committee today, the Indian leaders expressed grave dissatisfaction against PM Koirala for occupying power against the people’s mandate.

A pressure group comprising politburo member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) Sitaram Yechuri, who is also the coordinator of the committee, Indian Nationalist party General DP Trpathi and National Secretary of CPI-D Raja has reportedly become more active.

It has been reported that the pressure group is due to call on Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to pressurise him not to extend any kind of support to PM Koirala.(from : kantipur)
